A happy belated Father’s Day to all of the dads out there. Baby H and I tried our best to give hubby the best Father’s Day ever. After a yummy breakfast at the diner, we took a nice long dip in the pool before Baby H (and hubby) took a nap.
We went to a local farm for strawberry picking (and ice cream!), had burritos at Moe’s for dinner, and wrapped up the evening with dessert for all of the dads (hubby, my father and my brother - who is Baby H’s godfather) at our house.
Baby H and I gave hubby a couple of gifts, but my favorite was a series of photos of Baby H that I had framed for his office. We had three photos done - one of Baby H looking like a little man in his Hawaiian shirt, one of him in his “Dad is My Hero” shirt, and one of him in hubby’s sweaters. Take a look:
Here’s a recap of Easter 2008. Baby H, Grandma and I started off our day by going to church, then over to Grandma and Grandpa’s for brunch. It was a full house - me, hubby and Baby H; Grandma and Grandpa; Great Grandpa; and Uncle Bryan and Diana. Baby H was really spoiled - of course, his favorite toy was this stuffed bunny that sang “Jesus Loves Me.”
In his Easter finest (it was freezing out!)

That evening, we went over to Nana and Papa’s for dinner - and more stuff. Baby H got an adorable spring outfit, and loved eating pasta with lots of spaghetti sauce.
We had so much excitement on Easter that Baby H didn’t even get to open the basket that the Easter Bunny left at our house until later in the week.
Saturday was “big boy” day for Baby H. We bought him a new stroller, had his feet measured for shoes, and took him for his first haircut at our local Snip-its.
He had his hair cut by Stacy, who is Miss Heather’s sister (Miss Heather is one of Baby H’s teachers) - she did an awesome job. Miss Heather came to the salon to see the haircut (and surprised us by paying for it!).
Baby H was such a good boy - he loved it when Miss Heather blew bubbles at him and enjoyed looking at the books. Some pics:
February 9 was Baby H’s first birthday. To celebrate, we had family and friends over for a farmyard-themed birthday party. Although it snowed, we had guests from New York, New Jersey and even Rhode Island in attendance (special thanks to Huxy for helping me pull everything together - love ya!).
Baby H had a good time - he loves to ham it up for company and had fun playing with his cousins and friends (even though he almost took a few kids out with his hippo push toy). His favorite part of the day? Not the gifts or the people or even the cake - it was all about the balloons.
It’s been a while since anyone has posted to this blog, so here goes. There is this football game being played. And the little one has begun his quest to really start to move.
Sorry that I have been MIA lately. Life has been crazy - between business trips, weddings, birthday parties, colds and football, we haven’t had time to breathe!
In lieu of a long-winded post detailing the activities over the past four weeks, here are some pics:
So the Giants may have lost the game, but they got the best looking little fan in the world. As a dad, I have to say it made me very happy to see my boy wearing an Eli Manning Jersey on the day that eli played heroically from an injury in defeat. Welcome to the team H, you have just entered into a lifelong of frustration and glory.
A busy week in the Ari & Amber household last week. We had a full house last weekend, with Hubby’s friends from college (and their babies!) visiting. We had 8 adults and 4 infants (between 3-9 months) staying at the house. A big thank you to our friends who drove from Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Washington DC.
Moms and babies…
Baby couch potatoes.
And Baby H also started on solid foods last Sunday. We have been exploring the wonderful world of rice cereal this week, and will be moving on to carrots next. I’m a little bummed - I am planning on making all of Baby H’s baby food, but making your own carrots is not recommended, due to the high level of nitrates (or something like that). So I will have to start him on packaged baby food. But the next food on the list is applesauce, and we have plenty of experience making that!
