Doctor,

Yeah off for more fun and getting stuck by needles. Was supposed to go friday but I will be away so I swithced the day to have my thryoid prodded and poked by the good ole doc. Hopefully my numbers have improved. I really don't feel much better but with thryoids they tend to be a bit funny like that. I know my numbers were still quote "Above Normal" the last time, but they were still much much better.

Anyhow off I go.

Word of the Day - Tuesday

In trying to keep with word of the day Tuesday next Monday drop me a note with a word and I will use it (maybe). Today, From my wife she decided that the word appreciation was a good one.

Anyhow the word appreciation, is truly recognition, but it also comes to my dismay that people who are appreciated for their efforts aren't always compensated. Its easy to be appreciated what really needs to happen is for the appreciated people to be treated like a valuable member of a workplace or a esteemed member of the community. Appreciation and these too items don't always go hand in hand. Anyhow the word from my good friend Webster.

Main Entry: ap·pre·ci·a·tion
Pronunciation: &-"prE-shE-'A-sh&n, -"pri- also -"prE-sE-
Function: noun
1 a : JUDGMENT, EVALUATION; especially : a favorable critical estimate b : sensitive awareness; especially : recognition of aesthetic values c : an expression of admiration, approval, or gratitude
2 : increase in value

Weekend Recap,

What a quick great weekend it was. Shot a 103 and was very happy to do so playing golf with a great friend of mine. The 103 was a good score for me, my goal is to break 100 and i can see myself doing so soon!! In addition finally put up a mailbox the Wife and received as a shower gift some 8 months ago. Spent some time with the wife as she pointed out we had been married 6 months so we went out to dinner and all that jive. I also put up shelves in my basement. All I need to say drilling in concrete even with the special bit absolutly sucks. The shelves may not be perfectly straight but they are up and they are holding things. I can almost walk thru our laundry room.

As the above title was arnolds call in the terminator. Evidently this idiot governer wants to terminate all dogs who go thru shelters in a rapid manner. Well arnold, people love there animals. How are you going to feel when you prematurly kill a y oung boys dog because you want things done faster. I know there are overcrowding and space limitiations but rally the people around this. Offer tax breakes ot those who want a dog. Read the article and read what Barbara O;;Connor said. I couldn't agree with her more.

Here Comes The Judge - June 24, 2004 This disgusts me. This judge. He should be stripped of his robe (okay bad wording there) but he should no longer be a judge. I mean under the bench. Go do that ina bathroom, or go into your bedroom if you have to.

Word of the Day

Loser - We are all losers and we are all winners. Loser is an interesting word. But the word Loser, is a mean word. Its not a fun word. Essentially one can lose, and one is a Loser. The thing I didn't get about hte word Loser is why do people do the L Thing with their left hand in front of the forehead. Its nice on Breakfast of Losers and all but thats really it. Anyhow here is how my good friend Webst Papodapolis defines it below. (okay its not really webster P but its still webster)

Webster Defines Loser as the following:
Pronunciation: 'lü-z&r
Function: noun
1 : one that loses especially consistently
2 : one who is incompetent or unable to succeed; also : something doomed to fail or disappoint

The Dentist

Okay tomorrow morning at this time I will have been told for the 8,000 time in my life that i don't floss well enough. Well i hate to tell my dentist this but who does floss well enough. Why oh why do I pay him money to clean my teeth. First and foremost with Floss is that its taste is disgusting, even though I have found the flosser helps me dramatically, my gums still bleed more often then not, and it just plain and simple hurts. Oh well Word of the Day Tuesday Coming later.

Tigers Camera

So I hear tiger woods caddy beat up somebody's camera. Tiger in this what have you done for me lately, you have won absolutely nothing. I heard someone on the radio compare tiger to Mike Tyson. Great as youngsters they both won everything and they just couldn't keep up with the bar they have set for themselves. Well I don't feel bad for Tyson or tiger. I just hope that they wind up treating people like they themselves would want to be treated.

As for everything else, the weekend was good, to quick, but aren't they all. The wedding was nice, I will try to post a picture from home. I have decided that someone should find a way to slow down time on the weekends and speed them up during the workdayayay day!!

Fabulous Friday,

Thank god its friday, so its time for a rambling and getting ready for another wedding. Yes our 4th wedding in a span of 5 weeks. This one I will be able to sleep in my own bed friday, and saturday night. There will be no 3 hours in the car, and as a matter of fact I should be home early enough on saturday to take a midafternoon nap. So here is for the weekend. As for other items it might be due to the weather, but I have a case of the mondays on fridays. I just can't seem to get motivated at all. I was in a meeting for a few hours (3 to be exact) and my normal energy and spirit weren't there. It was like I was the anti me. Whats really weird is I am sluggish in spurts. Oh well it will figure itself out evenutally.

On another note it rained yesterday finally!! My grass seed is still not growing. Some day my lawn will be the manicured lawn that I have worked so hard for.

Another Quiz

Check out your brain power, Thanks HR Lady, and more specifically check out my brain power and what it means below.

Your Brain Usage Profile:
Auditory : 60%
Visual : 40%
Left : 50%
Right : 50%

Ari, your hemispheric dominance is equally divided between left and right brain, while you show a moderate preference for auditory versus visual learning, signs of a balanced and flexible person.

Your balance gives you the enviable capacity to be verbal and literate while retaining a certain "flair" and individuality. You are logical and compliant but only to a degree. You are organized without being compulsive, goal-directed without being driven, and a "thinking" individual without being excessively so.

The one problem you might have is that your learning might not be as efficient as you would like. At times you will work from the specific to the general, while at other times you'll work from the general to the specific. Sometimes you will be logical in your approach while at other times random. Since you cannot always control the choice, you may experience frustrations not normally felt by persons with a more defined and directed learning style.

You may also minimally experience conflicts associated with auditory processing. You will be systematic and sequential in your processing of information, you will most often focus on a single dimension of the problem or material, and you will be more reflective, i.e., "taking the data in" as opposed to "devouring" it.

Overall, you should feel content with your life and yourself. You are, perhaps, a little too critical of yourself - and of others - while maintaining an "openness" which is redeeming. Indecisiveness is a problem and your creativity is not in keeping with your potential. Being a pragmatist, you downplay this aspect of yourself and focus on the more immediate, the more obvious and the more functional.

Not so Sure,

I have been wondering alot about the future lately. As I try to pay off bills that have gotten out of control and I want to get into my own control as soon as possible. Anyhow I was watching southpark tonight and thats what got me thinking about the future. As all the jobs seem to go away in the episode of Southpark "took are jobs". What will the future hold in terms of jobs for all of us. Is it better in today's market place to have a "Blue Collar" type skill like a plumber electrician or automechanic. Or is it smart to have "white collar" job where one constantly works for the man (if you are the man then is it okay?). I mean in the movie Empire Records they are constantly telling you to "DAMM THE MAN, Don't let the man get you down. Well back to thinking, damn i really need to stop thinking.

WORD OF THE DAY

Cookie

Thanks again to my wife for a very tasty word. Cookie, its a great snack when you are hungry, a good pick me up. My favorite type of cookie has to be thin mints. See I don't believe mallomars are cookies or are they. They are really gram crackers chocolate and marshmallow. Anyhow I love to eat cookies, especially with ice cream. MMMM Cookies. Anyway take a look at what webster has to say about the word.

Summer is here.

After the long ride home yesterday, i realized that summer is actually here. When i went to take the dogs out about 8:25 or so it flashed in front of my eyes like a flashback to summers past. They were everywhere lighting up the sky like a peaceful day. It was the fabulous fireflies. Of course my little pooch daisy tries to bite the fireflies, I don't think they are so good for her.

Anyhow, i also realized that its ice cream season. I do eat ice cream all year round, but its like after mowing your lawn you need a beer, there is something to be said for ice cream on hot humid summer day.

For those of you who are dog lovers and you haven't seen the First Dog Page this is a must see. It takes a look at the First Dog, and former First dogie Spot. The video's are so cool. My dogs were very jealous looking at Barney running thru the white house and onto the lawn.

5 States

Well the weekend has almost come to a close. For this I am sad to see. Lets see 500 miles in 28 hours. 5 States, as amber said we did 1/10th of the country complete. The ride there and about was all good and we got to see some good friends and have a great time. The amount of time in the car is cause for exhaustion and Daisy and Stanley were very happy to see us when we returned.

The wedding, was a beautiful affair. It was an outdoor wedding and they used some muppets theme song. Different I must say for sure, but interesting non the less. As for everything else, I am happy to be home in NJ and looking forward to the season premier of 6 feet under.

This day has been what can we say, quick and quicker. I have been trying to go out for a walk every day during work. I think its helping. My energy level has picked up a bit, and I am just not so damn tired.

Already starting to look forward to the weekend. Wedding 3 of 4 in 5 weeks. This one up in massachusets for 2 friends from college. Going to be a fun weekend in the car thats for sure.

The Reagan Funeral and rambling

Well not sure if any of you out here got a chance to watch it, or actually be there. Political ideals and what not aside for a moment, it was an interesting historical moment to watch. In my lifetime I had never seen a "State" Funeral in this country. I remember when Princess Di, and Mother Theresa died but to some extent those funerals felt so distant so not in my backyard. There was something about the proceedings that went on today, that again captivated me. Made me aware of how proud I am to be part of this very wonderful and wonderfully flawed country. I remember after 9-11 feeling miserably sad, and just empty. I remember telling myself that no matter who the president was that life would never be the same. So you might be thinking what does this have to do with Reagan. Well I am not sure, but watching this got me back to thinking of the last 10 years of life, graduating from college, putting a pet to sleep, watching good friends pass away at to young of an age, and watching my great nation attacked. Tonight while former president reagan lies in the people's capital, I thank all of you who make the american dream possible.

Someone help my coworkes, I have gas!!!

Word of the day -

For now on, I am going to ask my wife for a word every tuesday. She can come up with many, but Thoughtful was the first one that came to my IM Screen. See she is a writer, a damn good one to, someone who should be writing childrens books.

Anyhow the definition thanks to my goodfriend Webster -

Main Entry: thought·ful
Pronunciation: 'thot-f&l
Function: adjective
1 a : absorbed in thought : MEDITATIVE b : characterized by careful reasoned thinking
2 a : having thoughts : HEEDFUL b : given to or chosen or made with heedful anticipation of the needs and wants of others
- thought·ful·ly /-f&-lE/ adverb
- thought·ful·ness noun

As for this word, it would probably be a good description for my wife. A thoughtful, caring, incredibly sexy human being who had a rough night last night. See she got a flat on I-80 and of course every place we went to to get the donut off and put a new tire on was closed. So it sucked ass. Then she wanted ice cream and of course they closed the Baskin Robbins (we have a BR and a DD Combined) portion and just left the Dunkin open. So it was not a night that was a gift from the gods.

The Pen is Mightier the the Sword

You don't have to like Ronald Reagan's politics. You don't. You don't even have to like what the man stands for. But the man is dead. Some people just can't let the past go, and its important to note, that its in the past and there is nothing that can be done now. WorkingForChange-Ronald Reagan's real legacy Maybe if the idiots who wrote this article would stop and think how they might like to be memorialized. Maybe, just maybe, we could all stop and think how words might affect others. How a family is grieving, how every single day people die, in wars or just naturally and it hurts, no matter if its expected or sudden.

Working OT, Reagen, and Escape

Its amazing. Today was a restful day. I spent way to much money on vitamins at GNC. Heard the news that our former president Ronny Reagen had passed and possibly watched my final hockey game in a long time. Spent some time having dinner with friends and stayed inside as the weather for June was awful nasty and awful cold. As I am watching this game in Overtime I keep thinking that without a hockey season next year it will be like loosing an old friend. Hockey has been a real part of my life since the 80's. And yes as a Devil fans I have dealt with the losing and the winning equally. But sports are an escape for me, as they are for many people around this great country of ours. There is so much bad in this world, that sports and TV are a necessary evil!! I hate to say it but its the truth. Escapism, and fantasy is what helps all of us get through the hard times in life. In the post 9-11 world it has become more necessary then ever. So what does Ronald Reagen have to do with this post. Nothing really. It was during his second term in office when the devils made the playoffs for the first time in team history (1987). It was during his tenure that we learned words like "trickle down economics." Its also amazing to me seeing the president pass away makes me think as an independent voter who should be the next president. To be honest I am not sure who to vote for. Both candidates talk out of their asses, and I wouldn't trust either of them to sleep in my house to take care of my dogs. Well I guess I will hold that one til election day. For now. Goodnight all, and with the game still going if calgary scores. Goodnight, and possibly goodbye old fried.

The longest shortest Week

Well its friday, and TGIF. Thank goodness. Its been a crazy week. Yes the work week is only 4 days, but when you throw a funeral in the middle and some bloodwork on friday morning it makes for a long week. The blood work and doctor's visit this morning was lets say good and bad. The good news is we are moving in the right direction with my thyroid issue, the bad news is they believe I should go see an endicronolgist for some more checks and just to verify what has been done already its all good! So in July I (around the 20th) I will be going to see an Endo, sounds like fun.

As for the blood work, there is a new woman taking the blood at my doctors office and it took her a couple of tries to get my blood. Thats not the worst part. When she finally had prodded me a few times, she then decided to bandage me up. Well she didn't do a good job and when I was leaving and getting my lab results the lady at the desk noticed some blood coming from my arm, well she needs to do a better job at wrapping up.

KEYS

I was looking at my keys today, and I noticed that not one of my keys were actually straight. I guess gravity really is the strongest force out there in the world. All this time I thought Yoda and OB1 were telling me to use the force.

Well speaking of gravity, my feel are firmly planted on the ground. It has been 1 crazy week. Tomorrow Wifeee and I are off to a funeral for a relative, So in 5 weeks it will be four weddings and a funeral. I know they allready made the movie, but we should have had someone following us around with all the craziness. Speaking of weddings here is a fun picture of me, eating a lobster tail.

Pop vs Soda

Oh why int he world was this study done. It looks fairly thourough and if you ask me its soda. Or why not combine it to soda pop. And what happened to pepsi that should also be considered in this category!
