The Power of Nature,

I was sitting in the car last night heading home from a wonderful weekend with the wife and the inlaws and the brother-in-law and the enormousness of the situtation in Asia had finally set in. Its scary to think that we are all just at the will of nature and we take so little care of it. Its not the fact that when all said and done over 100thousand people will have died, (probably, sadly more), its the fact that people aren't talking about in the grand scheme of things with terrorirst and all the horrendous items that go on in this world that we are so little. Nature and the earth are so more powerful that we are always at the mercy of it. We very really truly understand the blizzards, hurricanes, etc. 100K people dying is truly the story of 2005. In all it makes the silly stories like Brittney, and Janet Jacksons Boob, seem like we were all wasting are breath. Well lets hope that we all learn something from this and that every day is very special, and we are all very lucky to be here.

2004, A Review,

Well where to start where to start.

2004 is almost over. In the last Calendar year, I have gotten married, celebrated New Years in St. Lucia, voted in the presidential election, worked (Very hard I might add). Been to way to many weddings. Spent entirely to much money, have figured out that health is more important that we give it credit for, and if you feel like shit every day you wake up maybe their is something wrong with you. I finally had found a doctor who believed in what I was saying, unfortuatnly he found out that he wanted to spend the rest of his life in Colorado. I was dissapointed that a man can be given the death penalty on a circumstantial case. I have learned that Sports and Business Shouldn't mix, as 2005 looks to be the winter of my discontent without the NHL Season. I have learned that their is so much to this world, that the little things shouldn't really bother you, but its those details that people take to heart. I have learned that you can do things for people and get nothing in return and feel damn good about it, and you hope that some day these people might just do the same for you. I found out that my wifey loves Mickey. I found out that their are a few people who read this blog. I found a technology (Sat Radio) that I can take with me on my trips in the car, or just sitting in traffic (i do it frequently). I found that a 10lb dog should not be outside in -2 degrees.

And I wish you all a very Happy Holiday, will try to blog from the great State of New York, but if I can't I will be back before the turn of the year.

Temperature Lower then dogs weight.

You know its cold, when you 10 lb dog weighs more then the thermometer reads. This morning was a challenge getting her out. She was non to happy. I actually have enjoyed this weather a little bit, besides by the fact I am sneezing because its so dry and it hurts its all good. The weather reminds me of growing up a bit. I remember growing up it seeemed to be much colder, maybe its because I was much littlerand the smaller you are things seem to be colder and hotter and what not. Where was I going with this I am not sure. Well my Anniversary is 1 week from today. The wifey and I will have made it thru 1 year as a married couple, to be honest it wasn't really that hard but we both tend to be pretty good communicators when something is bothering us. Before Christmas I hope to have the year in review thru my eyes, but that might happen after the anniversary. Who knows, nothing is set in stone. Well back to the couch and my last monday night game in the house until next year.

The Ref's and why they Suck Ass.

To the officials of todays Giants Steelers game. Go somehwere far far far away. Since when is a defensive player not allow to finish a play. Its one thing that the giants lost the game to a better team, its another thing to have the refs give an advantage to the said other team.

Their were 2 plays that stick out in my mind. First was the ben rothlisberger ruffing the passer call in quarter #2. After ever every play after that, my wife could hear me making snide remarks, what is that a personal foul against our offensive lineman he touched the Dlineman. The second was the non call on amani toomer. The simple fact here is any wide receiver would get that call, not the Giants.

On the good side Eli played real good, and that gives me hope for the last 2 weeks of the season. We won't be going to the playoffs but the future looks bright, just hopefully not to bright for that officiating crew.

The Vestibule and The Vomatorium

Their is no story, I was talking to the wifey last night and we were talking about the Vestibule at the train station I wait at once a month and how cold it is in their. And the fact that no one ever talks in those things.

Then I brought up the question if she new what a Vomatorium was. She thought I was full of it. Well a Vomatorium is the area where the players enter the stadium. Its friday, I have thought way to much and the weekend contains driving in a car to long island watching my beloved GMEN from my own couch with no one near me as I throw things at the TV because they have lost way to many in a row.

What a day.

Another day another donut. I battled the world of FP and Domino DOC and still no solution. I battled the phone, the cold, and a haircut. I hate geting haircus. They need to find a way to allow people to multitask while getting a haircut but wouldn't that be dangerous. Soon, you will be able to multitask on an airplane, isn't that just terriffic. Wireless internet on the plane. I wonder if the pilots will also have the internet on a plane as well. I can see the guy in the cockpit fling home at night, will you check the scoe of my fantasy team? I still am wondering in whats next in terms of the internet and how far will it go. Does that fact that its good in a plane, make bus and train transportation completely invalid??? Well enough about this internet and a shitty day, bring on the snow, just let me put my ice scraper in the car.

Death, and Evidence,

I am sure this will be wildly unpoppular, but I am not sure how someone can be put to death (or be given the recomendation of death) on a Circumstantial case. As strange as it sounds no one should ever be put togehter on a case that is all heresay. How decisions are made amaze me. I listened to most of the jury interviews, and they all said one thing that truly bothered my core. They all said that they made decisions that they felt were right in their heart. Well shouldn't the Jury be basing decisions on the facts of the case. Not that Lacy was cute or cuddly looking, or scotts go-tee is frightening. The world has changed. In the land of public approval its all about Media Bias, and if you ask me its gone to far.

The Disney Vacation Wrap Up,

Well the wifey and I have returned from what was a long overdue vacation. It all started on Wednesday night after work, with a ride up the NYS thruway to beautiful Albany NY, dropped off the dogs, catched a few winks of sleep and were up by quarter to 5 AM for our flight to Orlando.

THURSDAY

Woke up, drove to the airport and waited. We flew southwest to Orlando, Southwest is a free for all. The Way down we sat next to a Judge from Albany County. The flight was good except for about the last 40 minutes of the flight. Well the last 40 minutes consisted of about a 5 or 6 year old doing his best impression of a human car starter. It was the most annoying thing. This is the same child who was sitting a row in front of us, and slammed my wife’s shade in her window seat. The most disturbing thing about this was the parent said nothing. So we opened it back up.

Anyhow we made it to Disney after an issue with the cab, and checked in put on shorts and headed off to the Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom was fun. First thing we did was get some food, and then we went to the Amazon on safari. Saw giraffe’s and gazelles and Lions and elephants and Rhino’s. It was quite nice. Then we decided to get wet on a water ride. Well the wifey was drenched; I mean not a spot on her was dry. This was the Kali River Rapids, and they were wet. After this we went to the land of the Dinosaurs, We went on a whirly type ride and then on the Dinosaur ride. It was fun and interesting. After the ride we watched the Disney Parade.

FRIDAY

Friday we went off to the Magic Kingdom, and was able to do every ride at the Magic Kingdom, Space Mountain, Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, the Tea Cups, The Peter Pan ride, some ride that goes round and round, The Buzz Light-year Ride, the River Safari Ride, Aladdin Magic Carpet Ride, and on and on. It was a great day, and a whole lotta fun.

Friday night we went over to the Osborne spectacle of lights at MGM and then off to Downtown Disney, Getting to Downtown Disney was an experience as we followed some signs to a TAXI, wound up at another one of the Disney resorts and finally found a bus to take us to Downtown Disney, where as it was late we finally got some dinner, after going into the Disney Store (which is humungous). As for the Osborne Spectacle of lights it was awesome. It was crazy, there are more lights their then I could ever imagine, it even snowed, it was really neat and if you ever get a chance to check out Disney around Christmas time this is a must see.

SATURDAY

Saturday was the day of Epcot. The day of broken down rides, and countries. Well we did everything at Epcot with the Exception of Test Track. We got to meet Mickey and Pluto in space suits before going on Mission Space. This was a cool ride. We hung out with Ellen and Bill Ni the science guy on the Universe of Energy which was a cool type of a movie like experience, we saw nemo in the living sees, and checked out how they grow plants and a little bit of the earth. Of course we did the golf ball and learned about communication.

We also checked out all the countries. Found some little rides in Norway and Mexico, and just enjoyed the views. We had lunch in the USA why you ask, because it’s our country and France (aren’t we boycotting them).

Anyhow after doing all of that, we went to see the Story of Christmas. Disney does this Candlelight Processional, essentially it’s an author who reads the story of Christmas while people perform, and it was very nicely done but a touch on the religious side for yours truly a Jew.

So we finally get to eat dinner, we went to eat at the Rose and Crown in England. The dinner was great, probably the best meal we had all vaca. What was even better was the dessert. I had this toffee pudding, which was just filling and delicious. While we were eating of course the Illusions night show was ongoing. When the flames go off, I can tell you feel warmth from them. The one thing I am not telling you about the day was that it was COLD.

SUNDAY

Normally the holliest day of the week with football ongoing, but I delt and delt well. In the AM we grabbed some breakfast went to MGM, and tackled the Tower of Terror, and the rock n rollercoaster. (tower of terror, disappointing at best), Rock and Roller coaster was rockin and a lot of fun, I am surprised people don’t get whiplash from that ride. Anyhow we checked out more of MGM and went to a couple of the show types of thing. Learned all about Walt Disney and how he came up with the mouse, it was very interesting. Saw the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular which I thought was neat.

Well after all of that it was time for lunch. So we went to the prime time café. It was funny as anything, as they make the men (me included) wear bibs, and she fed the wifey what was left on her plate, and they are just a bit crazy.

After this we shopped, and purchased a personalized ornament (more on this later), then we decided to go back to the hotel for a bit.

So we go back to the hotel and we realize that we had left the ornament, but no we don’t go back, we stay at the hotel and get ready for Mickey’s very merry Christmas party. The Christmas party was fun, a great fireworks display, and Tinkerbell flies thru the crowd, it was defiantly unique. We got to do a lot of the rides over including the Poo Ride which was fun, the ride bounces at times like Tiger. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Well the night was finally over and so was our trip.

As for how I delt with the lack of football, I was lucky enough to have a good buddy send me text updates of the game, as well I could check some of the scores online via my phone, the wife wasn’t happy, but such is life, and I made it.

MONDAY – final hours
Well Monday was here and it was our last day. Our car came to pick us up at 430 or so Monday evening. We tried taking it easy but had to go pick up our ornament at MGM. So we did so. Getting back the bus didn’t show up so we probably wasted about 30 minutes or so. Got back to the hotel, organized our stuff, and checked out for 11PM. SO after this we walked down to the boat doc and took a boat to downtown Disney. We ate lunch at the Earl of Sandwich, very well and probably the most inexpensive we ate all week. Then we shopped for a little bit, and before we left we got some Ice Cream Sunday at Ghirardelli. It was sooooooo gooooood. Anyhow we had another couple of hours to go so we just laid by the pool and relaxed a bit.

So the flight home was un-eventful, which was good, but surprise about 4 inches of snow. Now, who has not put their ice scraper or snow brush in their car (me), so I had to clean off the window with my sweater, and we made it back to where it all started by tuesday, at home with our dogs.
