SUPERBOWL WEEK

In honor of one of the best days of the year the "unoffocial American Holiday" i am going to go over some of my greatest superbowl memories. Many of them Giants memories but maybe i will do one day this week with just GMEN memories.

My First superbowl memory is the Superbowl Shuffle. The bears started a trend. Yup, they sung and dancedtheir way to New Orleans where they clobbered the patriots in Superbowl 20. The game was boring and sad in a way. Wathing the great walter payton not get to score a Touchdown when he had reached his ultimate dream, instead the Frdige got to plow his way into the end zone, but their is something about that song. It was humorous, funny, and egotistical at the same time.

A nice weekend,

So how was the weekend, well I was exhausted friday night, but saturday the wifey and i went skiing in the AM which was awesome. Had a fantastic time, then we rested our sour bodies which we are still doing at this minute. Its all good in the hood so to speak. I realized something sitting on the couch this afternoon. DAMN i miss football, and if hockey doesn't come back its going to be a long fall until the spring. I mean what the hell is one supposed to do without hockey??

Just Imagine Being the Only 1.

Afghan Jew Becomes Country's One and Only (washingtonpost.com)

Could you imagine being the only 1 of your religion left, the only 1 white person. Damn the story is amazing and odd, strange and normal. Is it life itself that makes a religion diminish over time, or is it just human selection. The story is amazing and sad, being the history of the Holocaust and its remembrance earlier this week. Hope you all enjoy and realize how lucky all of us are in any faith.

An odd workday,

I had planned on cominginto work and blogging about the Upcoming Superbowl and how that I am sooo frusturated by it, but I will not. Instead I came into work this morning, and I am not here for more then 25 minutes, when I get an Instant Message from the Front Desk letting me know that one of our co-workers in our office location had passed away. Evidently he was one of those gentlmen that was outside shoveling and it caused a heart attack. Whats strange is the way everyone reacted, everyone reacted like its awful which it is, but it was like thanks for telling me. What is appropriate when someone passes away??? I guess their are no wrong answers or anything but its more of a curious conversation.

Shoveling Phase 2,

Going to head out to shovel a bit. Its phase 2 as I did so last night, I shoveled a small path for the small dog early this AM in the backyard, and she did what she had to do (which is good). The one thing I did notice is how fricken cold it is outside. I say this in the nicest possible way, baby its cold outside.

Saturday, January 22, 2005

Ahh Shoveling,

Just did some shoveling, its not the snow, but its COLD, Thanks to my good neighbors across the sreet with the little snowblower I didn't have to spend to much time on it. The bad news will be tomorrow, when the plows have come thru, when I have to finish off the clean up and dig out the mail box because our mailman doesn't realize that he has a jeep and could easily drive over a little bit of slow, oh well I am speaking of nothing, but its cold and snowy outside.

The wife and I were talking today about 4 years ago. How different of a world we lived in. 4 Years ago I had never been laid off of a job, (since its been a couple) I loved where I worked the people where young and hip, and life was just that life. I had just bought my first piece of real-estate but life was so different. It was pre 9-11, it was pre that day that haunts many of us and has made many of us change the way we live and the way we think. Its so interesting to believe how the last 4 years have seem to take on a decade of things all to themselves. It sounds strange but its so true. Up until 9-11 I could give you a handful of live events that changed my beliefs and my ways of thought. Post 9-11 it seems like something changes my mind weekly changes my views, angers me saddens me, makes me more aware, makes me realize that we are all just that small in the grand scheme of things. Most days I still wish that the day in September never happened, but it did and we can never go back, so we must look forward, and work on to a better tomorrow.

Not much to report,

Been one of those days, snowed, took 4ever to get home, and we await for the inaguaration of the President of the USA. It seems to be the only thing in the news. Oh well, hopefully more tomorrow.

What Good Is Labor???

Every day, I watch and read the news, not only sports but the news. Anyhow their is this bus strike in NY, their is the Hockey Strike. Why does it always seems that Labor (unions) are always striking. I understand they believe its the only way they can get things. Well have people ever thought that if you made things more profitable that Management just might share with you. You might get that bonus if you take pride in your work, instead of doing it with a sour puss on your face all the time. Maybe treat others like you would want to be treated. Thats right you have already done this by saying I am not working but I still want this and this and this. Just not sure why this is an issue of mine, maybe its that I go to work everyday, I have no union backing me up. If I were to go on Strike I would be broke, no one would help me except for myself and my family and friends. Thats my union.

No Hockey, and Why Do I even Care about hoops.

See this no hockey thing has been made worse by the fact that everytime I watch my other Sports Team the nets I am greatly reminded that they will soon be moving to Brooklyn or Parts unknow. See, when you are a fan of something for your life wether it be a sports fan or a Soap opera when it finishes or moves you will tend to be a bit grumpy. Know when the nets go to leave NJ I am going to become a free agent. Yes, I in my mind want to hold a press conference declaring my free agency and have all the teams tell me why I should become a fan of their team, but who knows. I guess I might be a bit grumpy 2night because the Patriots are still alive, and in my mind, I was hoping that their "dynasty" would be over."

Other then that the weekend was good, saw some friends one of them who is bursting at the seems pregnant, and all is well. Hope all went well with yours.

Only 1 Way

Their is only way this weekend of football could be better, and that if my beloved Giants were still alive and possibly be playing in the big game.

As for the games this weekend. I am picking.
1. The Steelers Big over the JETS
2. How bout those Falcons
3. The eagles (i dislike them, and most of their fans)
4. And Finally the COLTS. GO Colts, its about time those fans in New England remember what its like to lose. I mean they have won everything lately. The Superbowl, the World Series etc. I just want my good friends up north to remember what it feels like to lose.

Anyhow all you all have a great saturday. I am outie.

The Weather,

I have a feeling the weather is making me tired. The weather is a royal pain the arse. Last night a very rare occurance our Satellite TV decided to go down for a bit, by morning all seemed to be fine. I think the weather has screwed a little bit with the dish so to speak, I think the heavy snow/ice has made a mess of it.

Well good news from the doctor my Nasal Surgery was a success and I don't ahve tto go back until next year, so that made me very happy, my nasal surgery was just a widening of the air passages, and I have felt much better since the surgery, in terms of my breathing. Well not much to report on this end, nothing besides by the large amounts of work I am trying to get done, just keeping the chin up.

Amber Fry, and Gloria Allright = Media Whore

Okay for some reason the Scott Peterson Trial Consumed me and I was into it, watching On the Record with Greta nightly (who the wife likes to call my girlfriend) but this Amber Fry was on Court TV last night, and is on Greta tonight, Amber claimed she wrote a book since the trail was completed like 5 weeks ago (and we all know it was ghost written), Their is so much about her that i don't like but that fact that people call her courageous. What is so courageous of sleeping with someone on the first night you met. What is so courageous of breast feeding during your time in court. I just don't get the fascination with Amber Fry, and her story with Scott Peterson. Yes, she was an important figure in the trial, but she was the mistress, the one that scott cheated on, besides this she really has no signifigcant impact. On the Court TV interview with Nancy Grace last night, amber was asked a question why she had Scott and Lacy on the book. She stumbled thru her answer, I mean at least her publicist would be much more interested. To be honest I think the better of the 2 books would be the Scott Peterson book, but we shall see.

Well here is something fun, as that post up their made no sense. Just the good ole boys Dick Cheney as Cooter.

Are you ready for some 7th heaven?

It dawned on me last night and with talking to this guy that the NFL with the exception for a few games left is over. My sunday nights of getting the garbage out the door between plays of hte sunday night game are over. Dicussing the wife how the game is more important then some hallmark movie that is on where the commercials were make her cry. This monday night their is no MNF or College game. Its college Hoops or some 7th heaven, ray ramono, and charlie sheen.

The other friend that is missing is the NHL. Where is my game that I adore so much. Where is the passion, and even if you come back will I be able to conjure the magic that I once held you in such high esteem, that I used to not go to sleep until my devils scored a goal (on the west coast games this was difficult). Where have you gone Don Koharski or can I imagine you eating a donut just like 1987?? Well I would rather you have a whislte then a donut, even if the call was going against my team.

Power Lines

Okay, this is not the first time, and I am sure will not be the last. On September 24, 2004 we had a powerfailure, a tree hit a powerline knocking out power for almost 1 full day. Then their was yesterday. My Neighbor calls to tell me a powerline was down but the power was still on. This was at lik 11AM. Well at 6PM when I walked in the door the cops were out in full force now you can'park their type of a thing. Meanwhile the down line is like 4 or 5 houses down the street and the cop was blocking my entry to my own driveway. Fine so that was good and done, or so I had thought. While watching CSI I see a blue flash of light. Well another wire in the same visinity had been knocked down (BY THE SAME TREE). THe problem here is the people who live their don't do shit. We did not lose power again, but the street behind us had 0 power. It was like staring into the Dark world. Well here is hoping that saturday's proposed ice storm allows us to wire down free.

So Its Done, The Tree is Down,

Well it took us a while, and a lack of motivation is the reason. The wifey and I finally took down our christmas tree, and believe it or not, it looked more beautiful then ever this morning. See in Northern NJ, it can be snow or ice, when its rain everywhere else. Lets see, this morning i hadn ice and slusshy mess about 2 inches deep. Little Daisy Weenie Dog, had a hard time with the crusty ness of the ice. Stanley our big springer. (See dogs here) loves the stuff, and its crustiness, I kid you not the dog goes out throws himself down and rolls around in the hard stuff. Its like he can finally scratch his back in all directions at the same time. Well not really to sure where i was going with this. Oh thats right our tree. It just looked so peaceful this morning leaning up against the fence with all iciclies on it.

Press Image of Gun Owner Not Far Off, Except for All Those Women

The average person in america owns 1.7 guns. I guess I am not average at all. Maybe I am underaverage in height, but not in spirit. I have no need to own a gun, if you want to steel from my home, go ahead, I will kick your ass, and my dog (who doesn't bite) will bite you right where it hurtz.

Ahh, a Fresh Year, Random Notes

Well here we begin. Its a fresh year, I am sitting and watching my beloved GMEN who have not lost yet this year. Granted its their last game until august, and the big Spaniel has wicked bad gas. We have our christmas tree, which my wifey tells me when she becomes an eccentric old lady she will have a christmas tree up all year round, I to love the tree, but also understand that its important to take it down, even though I am anal retentive with plants so our tree stays reall good and would probably root if I really put my mind to it. Well a few hours and back to the grind for me.
