Go me!

*WARNING: Long, bragging post ahead...*

Well, our National Sales Conference, the week that I have been dreading for months, is finally over. And it ended up going off without a hitch. Not only were all of the presentations flawless, but I received so many compliments from so many people, not only on the presentation content/execution, but also on the other work I have been doing for the company. Our chief sales and marketing officer hugged me. Crazy.

Our conference ended around noon, then it was off to our semi-annual all-company meeting. Following the business discussion, it was time for some employee recognition efforts. Guess who received a leadership award for her efforts in working on a major project?? ME!!!! When our chairman started describing the award, I practically started shaking. Now, I have always been a hard worker, but I have only been with the company about 6 months and never expected to be recognized for content development on a project - I was just doing my job.

I have always been a little (lot) competitive, and I have worked very hard to be where I am today. Winning something like this means so much to me - I have been on cloud nine all day.

And, to top off an immensely rewarding week, I decided to stop and pick up a lottery ticket tonight (I have been having good luck lately, and Mega Millions is over $100 million... what could it hurt?). The woman behind the counter asked me for my ID. Now, I could see if I was picking up some beer or cigarettes, but lottery tickets?? Ahhh... I am so happy.
