Ari and Amber 2-Day

Embracing my inner five-year-old.

I am such a child. Case in point: Thursday night. A recap:

1. Hubby and I took a dip in our pool. Now, I have never owned a pool before, but I would imagine that most grown-ups (without kids) that go swimming would actually do laps or something productive. Not us (well, not that night). We walked down the slope from the shallow end to the deep end singing "Walk Like an Egyptian," complete with arm moves. Hubby swam on his back, kicking his legs and yelling, "Geyser!" Then I made hubby stand in the shallow end while I walked in circles around him, saying, "Riptide!" (in the same tone that one would sing J. Geils Band's "Freeze Frame.") Bet that the neighbors think we are so cool.

2. After our swim, I had to go to the grocery store to pick up a couple of things. On the list? A cereal called "Ohs." I think that they are a local/regional thing (could never find them in NJ) and I LOVE THEM. Love, love, love them. So I am walking down the world's largest cereal aisle and can't find them anywhere. I scan the aisle again - nothing. I was starting to panic...it's like I could almost feel a temper tantrum coming on. Thankfully I was able to find them (finally!) and left the store without embarrasing myself.

Yeah, so I am a bit of a baby sometimes. Please tell me that all grown-ups act a little immature on occasion, that I am not the only one.

Home improvement

Despite (another!) weekend of rotten weather, it was very productive.

Hubby and I cleaned the house from top to bottom (last load of laundry is in the dryer right now), I went grocery shopping, hubby and my dad put up a chair rail in the spare bedroom, and there is a lasagna baking in the oven for dinner. Ah, domestic bliss.

Speaking of domestic bliss, hubby and I are watching "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" right now - pretty good movie, despite my real-life disgust toward Brad and Angie (sorry, Laura).

I'm off to check on my lasagna...

Blah, blah, blah...

I swear, even I have found my blog entries of late to be very boring. Sorry to my 5 or so faithful readers.

But there hasn't been anything going on lately in my little world. Just lots and lots of rain.

Let's see... Memorial Day weekend was nice. Hubby and I went outlet shopping, had some people over for a BBQ, celebrated my Nana's birthday at my parents' house and spent a lot of time in the pool - God, I love having a pool in the backyard. We also went swimming the one day last week that I got home before the thunder storms started. (That was also the day that the spaniel decided to go for a swim (hubby can tell you all about it).

As for this weekend - we went to see "The Break Up" last night (it was just eh, but we had free tickets so it was all good - the theatre was packed, though).

Today we slept late, had breakfast together, and went shopping. We are lucky enough to have a Christmas Tree Shop nearby, where we bought some rose bushes and tiki torches. They have some great deals, but their "don't you just love a bargain?" jingle runs through my head incessently every time I set foot in the store.

After our shopping trip, we went out for a late lunch, and are now just hanging out before getting ready to go out and hear a friend's band play tonight.

Tomorrow I am having breakfast with my parents and going to some curtain outlet in MA before joining the hubby on the couch for the rest of the day.

That's it. Yawn. So what are your weekend plans?
