Hello October.
It has been awhile since my last real post. No real reason for the hiatus, I just haven't had much to talk about. And I have been tired. Ever since our vacation in August, I don't think that I have slept through the night once (but my seven month old manages to do so, go figure...).
Anyway, here's a brief look at what's going on (in bullet formation, of course!):
* Baby H is doing great. He is enjoying his journey into solid foods, but still manages to nurse like a champ. And he has become so active - he is thisclose to crawling, but he scoots around on his tummy by moving his arms - it is adorable! He is starting to babble - he says "ba ba ba" or "ma ma ma" (or "meh meh meh") or "da da da" - and he loves blowing baby spit bubbles (trust me, it's cute!).
* Hubby and I are trying to make the most of our weekends. This past Saturday, we went to a local apple festival; last Saturday was our trip to the farm with the seven-acre corn maze; and we went hiking the Saturday before that. The weather has been beautiful and we are going to keep up our weekend jaunts in the outdoors as long as we can.
* We also took the baby to see his Uncle Bryan's football game up in Glens Falls on Saturday night. Oh my God, it was cold up there! Thankfully, we had the baby all bundled up in a hat, thick socks, and plenty of blankets. But I as in a tee shirt, hoodie and jeans and I was freezing!
* Speaking of weekends, yesterday was my best friend Jenn's bridal shower. I know that I am biased since I helped plan it, but I think that it was one of the nicest showers that I have ever attended. The decorations were pretty, the food was great, the favors were cute (and practical!) and the bride-to-be was the perfect hostess. Now I just need to upload the pics to Snapfish (I'll do it soon, Huxy, I promise!).
* And speaking of showers - what do you think about throwing a mom-to-be a baby shower for a second child? It was a random topic of conversation with my mom and I lately - while I know that it is not "proper" to host a baby shower for a mom who already has a child, I still think that it is a good idea. First of all, baby showers are more than a gift grab - they are a way to celebrate the mom-to-be and her baby. And I usually buy baby gifts for people anyway - even if it is their second or third child - so why not do it in a formal manner? And doesn't every baby deserve new stuff?
* I know that it is only Monday, but I am ready for this week to be over. We will be taking Baby H to a first birthday party on Sunday. He has become quite the party animal - it is the second birthday party he has gone to in three weeks. Thankfully he is a very social baby - he loves to be out and about with other people.
So, enough about me - what's up with you?
