After spending most of last week home sick with RSV, Harrison has been making up for lost time at daycare.

During dinner on Tuesday, Harrison started making the sign for "more." They begin introducing signs in the Infant 2 room, and he must be a fast learner. By Thursday, he added the sign for "milk" to his repertoire. It is so cute to see him communicate with us.

In other dinnertime news, Harrison is not a big fan of ground beef. I can't tell whether it's because of texture or taste, but he's just not loving it. He does like hard-boiled eggs, however, as well as almost all fruits, veggies, yogurt and cereal. (He especially loves feeding puffs to the dogs.) And for a kid who hates the bottle, he has been pretty receptive to trying out the sippy cup.

And now, for some recent photos of the little guy:

Masturcation, anyone?

Each day, Harrison's daycare sends him home with a sheet that lets us know what he ate/drank, what he did during the day, and any other important information that we need to know.

Today, I find this note:

Please continue to introduce Harrison to finger foods, cut very small. He has trouble masturcating solid foods.

Eeewww. Even when it is spelled correctly, the word "masticate" makes me want to gag. Can't you just say "chew?"

Of course, this totally cracked me up, and was quite the joke in our house this evening. During dinner, Hubby expressed his concern that Harrison is too young to masturcate, and I commented on the fact that I never realized that Hubby is a great masturcator. (Yes, we are just a little immature!)

Help!

Harrison's birthday is right around the corner, and we are holding a farm-themed party for him next month.

The problem? I can't find a thing for him to wear! I want to find him something that is cute, a little bit dressy and fits with the farm theme. I thought that embroidered overalls or a one-piece outfit would be adorable, but I can't seem to find anything anywhere. I have checked Janie & Jack, Gymboree, Gap, Old Navy, Hanna Andersson and Macys.

Any suggestions?

Where does the time go?

Um, when did it get to be mid-January? It feels like Christmas was just yesterday. And Harrison is now 11 months old - I wish that everything would slow down a little bit, so I could have the time to enjoy it all.

The holidays were great - lots of time with family and friends. Our first Christmas with Harrison was just magical - even though he preferred the boxes to the actual presents. He loves his new kitchen that he got from Santa, as well as all of the toys, books and clothes given to him by everyone.

My sister- and brother-in-law and my nephews came up for a visit - Harrison enjoyed seeing them and playing with his new football that he got. And we went out to dinner on New Year's Eve with my brother, his girlfriend, and their friends - a nice ending to a very relaxing vacation.

Of course, after a nice long stretch of being illness-free, Harrison contracted pink eye over the holiday and followed it up with a nice little stomach bug. Hubby and I managed to avoid getting pink eye, but I wasn't so lucky when it came to the stomach bug. Oh my God - I thought that I was going to die. It has been a week and I still don't completely have my appetite back.

Anyway, if I thought that this past month was busy - I haven't seen anything yet. Work is going to be a nightmare - our National Sales Conference is in mid-February and I am so swamped with presentation/script development, I can hardly keep my head above water. Plus, we are having a birthday party for Harrison and I need to get organized with that. And my goal is to finish his baby book by his first birthday (I am not holding my breath on this one).

If only there were more than 24 hours in a day...

The best things in life are free...

Okay, maybe not the best things - but it is possible to get something for nothing.

For example, hubby recently had a windfall of 2008 calendars bestowed upon him - six of them, to be exact (thanks to Woot!).

The Pigs on Parade calendar is already accounted for (it will look fabulous in my office), and hubby will be taking the motivational one for his office. The Buddha one will be sent to a friend, as will the Mediterrean one.

That leaves two left. If anyone would actually like a fairy calendar...

...leave me a comment or send an email to either me or hubby, and we will mail it out to you. Just our little way of saying "thanks for reading" (and to rid our home of the two fairies calendars - not really our cup of tea - no offense to people who like fairies).
